Menstruation problems / Hormonal complaints

  • During my menstrual periods I had a lot of stomach pain and back pain
  • I always lost a lot of blood
  • I was usually very tired for three or four days, and was always prone to anemia
  • I recognize many of the hormonal complaints I read about on the internet
  • I have the feeling that I have been going through some kind of menopause for a long time (hot flashes, restlessness, lumps and stitches in both breasts, mood swings, sensitive blood sugar levels)
  • my solution(s) during my menstrual periods:
    • sometimes I would stay in bed all day and put a hot water bottle against my stomach
    • I wore warm and comfortable clothes, often with a wide band around my waist and lower back
    • at the age of 45, I underwent surgery called the Novasure method, which meant I never had to endure the nasty aches and pains again
  • my solution(s) since I no longer have my period (after April 2015):
    • I take borage oil capsules that help with the twinges in my breasts
    • I ensure the right balance between relaxation and activities as much as possible

More about this symptom is to be found in my book for (young) adults
